Michael Hollywood - Partner at The George Vets

Dr Michael Hollywood - BVetMed CertVOphthal MRCVS

Michael qualified from London University in 1994. He completed a small animal internship at the Royal Veterinary College, London before joining the George as a small animal vet in 1995. He was awarded his RCVS certificate in Veterinary Ophthalmology in May 2000. Mike is one of the Directors at The George.

Apart from ophthalmology Mike's professional interests include surgery and feline medicine.
Mike spends most of his time working at the Malmesbury Hospital.

 

Cyril Hayes - Partner at The George Vet Group

Dr Cyril Hayes - MVB MRCVS

Cyril qualified from University College Dublin in 1998. After spending 18 months in mixed practice he decided to concentrate solely on small animals. He joined the practice in 2001, and spends time at all of our sites. His main veterinary interest is internal medicine, especially endocrinology as well as soft tissue surgery and orthopaedics. Cyril is also a Director at The George.

Outside of work he enjoys all sport, gardening and is developing an interest in astronomy. 

Julie Hollywood - The George Vets

Dr Julie Hollywood - BVetMed MRCVS

Julie qualified from London in 1995. After working in small animal practice in Chippenham for 7 years she joined the George in 2003. Her interests include feline and rabbit medicine and soft tissue surgery. Julie spends her time between the branch surgery in Royal Wootton Bassett and in Malmesbury.

 


 
Iain Hunt - The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Iain Hunt - BVMS MRCVS

Iain graduated from Glasgow Vet School in 2004. He moved south to take up a post as a mixed practitioner in Cornwall where he stayed for 2.5 years. Iain joined the GVG in March 2007 where he has taken on a purely small animal role. He enjoys all aspects of small animal practice and has a particular interest in surgery.

He enjoys all sports, and is a regular on the football pitch and golf course. He was also part of the winning Tetbury Woolsack Race team in May 2008, 2009 and 2010! 

 

Katie Wheeler-Booth - The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Katie Wheeler-Booth - BVSc MRCVS

Katie graduated from Bristol in 2009 and, after working in Kent for two and a half years, she started at the GVG in May 2012. Katie splits her time between the hospital in Malmesbury and the branch surgery in Tetbury. As a vet she is really interested in all aspects of internal medicine. Out of work she loves the countryside, exploring the world and sports.

Sally Kirton - Vet at The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Sally Kirton - BVetMed MRCVS

Sally joined The George permanently in June 2013, although she has been a pretty regular part of the team since 2011 providing locum cover for holiday periods when needed. She graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 2006 and initially spent 2 years in mixed practice in Sussex, before moving to a small animal practice in Surrey. Sally enjoys all areas of general practice, with a particular interest in medicine. Sally is most often at Tetbury surgery or in Malmesbury.

 

 

Max Cory - Vet at The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Max Cory - BVMedSci (Hons) BVM BVS MRCVS

Max qualified from Nottingham University in 2013 and joined The George Veterinary Hospital soon after.  He is interested in all aspects of small animal practice, but with a particular bias for surgery. Outside of work he is a keen sportsman - particularly skiing, kayaking and rugby; although now more regularly a spectator from the side lines!   

 

 

Grace Thomas - The George Veterinary Hospital

 

Dr Grace Thomas - BVMedSci (Hons) BVM BVS MRCVS 

Grace graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2015 and joined us shortly after. She is based at the Malmesbury hospital and also sees clients at our branch in Royal Wootton Bassett. Grace enjoys all aspects of small animal practice with a keen interest in both surgery and ophthalmology.

Outside of work Grace enjoys playing lacrosse, music, travelling and running with a hope to soon take on the marathon. Grace was part of the record-breaking ladies team representing The George in 2016, with a new record time of 4:00.53 mins. 

Emma Pemberthy - The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Emma Pemberthy - BVM BVS MRCVS 

Emma graduated from the University of Nottingham and started work at The George Veterinary Hospital shortly afterwards.  She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but is particularly interested in internal medicine and diagnostic imaging. She splits her time between the hospital and our surgery at Royal Wootton Bassett.

She enjoys hosting dinner parties, live music events and is working up to attempting her second triathlon! Emma also represtented The George Ladies team in the World Woolsack championships in 2016; the team smashed an 11 year old record! Read more

Holly Chivers - Vet at The George Vet Hospital

Dr Holly Chivers - BVSc MRCVS 

Holly graduated from the University of Bristol in 2016 and joined the George Veterinary Group shortly afterwards. She is based at the Malmesbury hospital. Holly enjoys all aspects of small animal practice with a particular interest in medicine and neurology. Outside of work Holly enjoys cooking, travelling and cycling, and especially exploring to the local countryside. 

 

Alice Manley - The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Alice Manley - BVM BVS MRCVS 

Alice graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2016 and joined The George Veterinary Hospital shortly afterwards.  She is based at the Malmesbury hospital.  Alice enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, with a particular interest in internal medicine.
Outside of work, Alice enjoys playing netball, road-cycling, skiing, and running. 

 

Dr Oliver Taylor - BVM BVS MRCVS  

Oliver joined the team in 2017 at the same time as Emma Bailey (below) having qualified from Nottingham. He is based at the hospital in Malmesbury and enjoys all aspects of small animal medicine, with a keen interest in surgery and neurology.

Outside of work, Oliver is a keen sportsman- with a passion for a number of sports including water-skiing, wakeboarding, football and skiing. 

 

Emma Bailey at The George Veterinary Hospital

Dr Emma Bailey - BVSc MRCVS

The George Veterinary Hospital welcomed Emma to the team in August 2017 after she graduated from the University of Bristol. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine with a particular interest in medicine and dermatology. Emma is based in our Malmesbury veterinary hospital.

In her spare time she enjoys playing badminton, surfing and watching motorsports.
