Laura Sharpe

After graduating from The University of Liverpool in 2005 I completed an 18 month internship at The Liphook Equine Hospital. I then worked in equine practice at a variety of different clinics.

I achieved my certificate in Equine Medicine in 2014 and was granted Advanced Veterinary Practitioner status in 2015. Whilst equine medicine is an area I have chosen to pursue in more depth, I thoroughly enjoy all aspects of equine work including poor performance, lameness evaluations, pre purchase vettings and emergency work.

What I enjoy most however is developing the relationship with clients and getting to know their horses and understand their needs. I have ridden since I can remember, and was fortunate enough to have a go at every Pony Club activity on offer, eventually picking eventing as my chosen equestrian sport. Having done Pony Club and Riding Club teams and Championships I have since brought on four of my own eventers up to Intermediate level. I now have two 3 year olds waiting in the wings!

I am also an accredited FEI Permitted Treating Vet and have worked at Hartpury International Horse Trials in this capacity.

Megan Moore

I graduated from Nottingham University in 2015 and started work in a small equine practice in the Midlands. I later completed an 18 month internship at B&W Equine Vets where I developed my interests further in lameness, diagnostic imaging, intensive care of hospitalised patients and anaesthesia. Following this, I worked in general equine practice serving Bristol, Somerset and the surrounding areas before joining the team at the George Equine Clinic in 2019. I really enjoy all aspects of equine practice and particularly appreciate the varied caseload that we get presented with in ambulatory practice.

I have been around horses and ridden from a young age, taking part in as many Pony Club activities when I could. I continued to ride throughout my time at university and was a member of the riding team, which enabled me to compete in Dressage and Show Jumping. I am also a very keen skier and would always prefer a holiday surrounded by snow than sunshine and a beach.

I graduated from Nottingham University in 2022 and then completed an 18 month internship at Bell Equine in Kent, where I developed my interests further in internal medicine, ophthalmology, anaesthesia and emergency cases. Following my internship I worked at an equine ambulatory practice in Northampton before joining The George Equine Vets. I thrive in the variety and different demands of all cases in equine practice.

I’ve always been around and ridden horses, all thanks to my grandparents who owned and operated a riding school. Throughout university I was part of the polo team and hope to continue playing in Wiltshire. Outside of work I love to spend time with friends and family and enjoy the outdoors going walking and camping.

I have worked as an equine vet here at The George since 1992. Equine poor performance and lameness are two of my principal interests and they are often conditions that go hand in hand. Pre purchase examinations (vettings) also form a large part of my work both at the clinic and on yards. I have competed over the years in show jumping and eventing and, latterly, team chasing. If I’m honest, I’ve probably had more fun than success! I have a family yard of horses competing locally and I enjoy seeing many of you out and about at various local equestrian events. It’s always great to watch the horses I’ve cared for out competing, looking well and enjoying life!

Equine veterinary practice is a job I love. Working as part of a dedicated team that is passionate about providing high quality, progressive veterinary care for your horses is fantastic and a privilege. Care and service are two of our watch words. I also enjoy writing a veterinary advice column for various equestrian publications and contributing to our own in house newsletters and talks.

I came to The George Equine Clinic in 1985 having returned from working in Australia.

I am married to Mike, an ex-rugby player and have a stepson, George, and a son, Tom. Tom rode and had a great pony until he was 12 but then decided that rugby was the sport for him (no pressure from his father of course!), so now I am the only rider in the family! At least it keeps me from being a rugby widow!

Having grown up with horses, I appreciate the challenge of equine practice especially lameness, dental and back problems. I love the fact that even after all these years, there is always something new to be learnt and if you are prepared to carry on learning, practice will never be dull.

I still very much enjoy being one of the vets working at Badminton Horse Trials and serving on the veterinary panel at Horse of the Year Show, both which throw up different challenges each year.

I oversee the running of the equine office, to provide all the administrative support for the Equine Vets. From the office, I arrange veterinary visits, take account payments and manage all of the equine insurance claims. I’m here to assist with any queries and will put you in touch with our equine veterinary team when needed.

Janine Collishaw

Janine was already a client before she joined the team in July 2025 and has been around horses for many years. Janine and Jennie work closely with our vets to ensure all client queries and bookings are handling efficiently while our veterinary team is out there on the road looking after your horses.
