The George Farm Vets has a wide range of experience in caring for the variety of sheep enterprises in the South West. We have a core group of vets in the team who are enthusiastic about improving flock health.
We offer a wide range of health services to ensure the longevity and productivity of your flock.
Ed Bailey has a certificate in advanced Sheep Veterinary Practice and leads our sheep team. Sarah, Ellie, Geth and Kat run our sheep discussion meetings and are closely involved with many of our sheep flocks.
We can offer the following services:
- Pre tupping bloods
- Pre-lambing ewe nutrition and condition evaluation
- Flock specific parasite control plan
- In house worm egg count testing (including fluke), with results to you the same day
- Thin or cull ewe investigations to rule out iceberg disease, and we perform post mortems if necessary.

Fertility Services
We can perform ram vasectomies and pre breeding checks including semen evaluation using Dynescan technology, as detailed in the beef section.
Training
We run an annual lambing course – usually in February- and this is suitable for new sheep farmers or anyone who feels they want to refresh their skills.
We also offer regular medicines handling courses and can provide specific on farm training for you and your team, if needed.
