Pre-Purchase Examinations
The start of the journey with your horse. Our experienced team offer a full vetting service with or without x-rays as required and ensure all findings are communicated and discussed clearly with you straight after the examination, as well as providing a written certificate.
Poor Performance Investigations
When we have concerns about our horses’ performance levels, the root causes can be many and varied. We are a skilled and experienced veterinary team able to appropriately investigate these problems, working closely with all involved in the management, care, training and work of the horse.
With the necessary diagnostic equipment, including gait analysis and imaging- all of which can be used on site at your yard- plus our own in house laboratory, we are well placed to help your horses reach their performance potential. For anyone who’s had toothache, not only is this hard to believe but it is also a sobering thought. This is why regular dental check ups are such an important part of your horse, pony or donkey’s welfare and are essential for ensuring good performance. Regular quality dental care for your horse is all about preventing pain due to dental disease and extending the useful life of your horses’ teeth.
It’s not all about rasping! Whilst removal of sharp edges forms part of dental treatment, there is so much more to ensuring that your horse is comfortable in the mouth both when ridden, at rest and when eating.
- A thorough examination of the head and mouth needs to be carried out before starting any treatment
- The mouth must be fitted with a gag for examination of the cheek teeth, the gums and all the soft tissues lining the mouth
- Flushing food from the mouth is essential to ensure good visibility, before using both a torch and dental mirror or oroscope to visually inspect the teeth and soft tissues for signs of disease. Without a mirror or oroscope, good visualisation of many areas of the mouth is not possible.
Once this has been done and findings recorded, then appropriate treatment can begin!

We provide 24/7 emergency care for all our clients’ horses, for which different fees apply.
There is always a member of our equine team on call. This way we ensure excellent continuity of care for your horse’s needs and provide an optimum service for our clients.
Microchipping & Passports
All horses require both by law. Any queries about your horse’s status or if you need either doing, just ask.
In-house Laboratory
We have our own lab on site enabling us to rapidly process samples speeding up diagnosis and thus effective targeted treatment to get your horse back to full health faster.
Medicine Requests
We offer the opportunity to make medicine requests online or via WhatsApp.
Please note that we require 2 working days’ notice when using this method so that your order can be checked by a vet and prepared for collection from one of our branch locations. If your request is more urgent, please call 01666 826456.

Endoscopy & Gastroscopy
Gastric ulcers can only be diagnosed and monitored by looking inside the horse’s stomach with a camera. Likewise problems with other internal areas of your horse, such as the respiratory tract or bladder require endoscopy to ascertain the nature of the problem and allow effective treatment
Ultrasonography
Soft tissue and bone surface images obtained by ultrasonography are a great tool to help manage and treat lameness, colic, wounds, eye and abdominal diseases and many more areas!
